Allow PDFs to be inserted into case notes
complete

I was under the impression that the new case notes would allow me to become paperless.
Alas! Most of my faxes and scans are in PDF format, yet the new case notes only seems to allow images to be imported (is there anyway of converting a 6 page fax pdf into an image?)
So PLEASE add the option of importing PDFs. Many thanks.
ps Would be even more awesome if there was some way of dragging and dropping images into the new case notes.

Hi All,
This feature was released late last week.
Below is a link to the Help Centre article which depicts the workflow for attaching a PDF to a Client's Case Note:
Thank you,

Hi Andrew,We are making steady progress with this on a number of fronts. Before Christmas we released as part of Secure Messaging a reply feature that has the first example of drag and drop of an external file into coreplus (see attached) This is built on entirely new technology for coreplus which is being rolled out across the entire product from this year. The letter writer and pretty much everywhere that there is a text editor in coreplus is about to replaced in the coming weeks which will wrap up more than six months of development and testing. This release will shift the needle somewhat closer to your ideal paperless world, it won't solve all the challenges but it provides coreplus with technology to be able to iterate with new features in a more responsive manner. Also close to completion is a new client, user and shared file user interface that is a shift from the traditional file tree to a large tile format, doing this means that you will be able to drag files from your local device and drop them into a target file folder without having to click and browse every time. Once all the file management changes are released we will also then be better positioned to display files in a more flexible manner. I look forward to hearing from you in relation to the upcoming releases, until then practice happy!

Hey Steven,
Just wondering how this is progressing?
I'm still dreaming of a paperless life :)
Cheers,

I have just submitted an idea related to this. It would be great to have a list of documents (letters, pdfs, results, case notes) in list format with another window within the screen where any of these are displayed once clicked. Glad to see this is likely to be implemented!

Hi Andrew,Thank you for your detailed response, it's exactly what's needed to help shape the feature road map of coreplus. I now have a greater sense of the way you work and what your needs are in relation to easily uploading documents and then accessing them within coreplus.

Hi Steven, Yes Paperless would be awesome! My sense is that if this was done well that it could add substantial value to Coreplus as a product. It could be marketed as a selling point of Coreplus. The problem with the files system at the moment is that it's very clunky. In a paper file it's easy to browse through letters. With the current file system it's the opposite. You have to click on each file, and then click again what you want to do with it. If the file has not been named (which itself adds an extra step to importing part), then it's hard to see what is what. So to read through someone's past correspondence requires, browse, click, click, scroll, close; for each file. Would be far easier if it was a running set of notes. If this were the case, I'd just be able to open the notes and browse - a far more intuitive and helpful way of looking through someone's correspondence. Even if you could just click a next arrow to view the next file in the list this would make a difference. As regards using case notes vs files:my guess is that some people would like to keep their correspondence separate to notes and for others it would be helpful to see important correspondence in notes (much as some people keep notes in a separate section of a file and others just keep a running record of a client's story organised by date). The latter saves clicking between notes and files. In a nutshell the most important thing for me would be to be able to:easily scan or upload files (at the moment can only do one at a time. Also there is not an option to scan a document directly to Coreplus - it needs to first be uploaded into a drive and then found, selected and uploaded). We be even better I was able to drag files or images directly into coreplus filing system and or notes. Ideally these could be uploaded/inserted into either the files section or the case notes. It would be particularly helpful to have explanations I've drawn on paper in sessions inserted in my case notes as these are relevant to the work I'm currently doing with any given client. Again would be great to have a 'scan' icon to click which would then upload the scan automatically. Note that scans would also probably need the option of being able to be rotated as many formulations I do are in landscape and by default scan in portrait mode. For some people being able to upload photos taken from whiteboards would be helpful too.Be able to easily browse case notes and or files as mentioned above. Many thanks, Andrew

Hi Dr Grey,Thanks for your feedback!I love hearing your ambition is to be paperless. If I understand correctly you want to insert external correspondence such as letters/faxes into the clinical Case Notes editor, is that correct?A more familiar workflow would be to add the PDF's of the letters etc to the Client File section, do you do this already?Drag and Drop would be limited to dropping in items stored on your local device (like a saved file) and not dragging from one browser tab into coreplus, would this still be useful?
